“Radio” is a very inspiring and humble story. Coach Harold Jones (Ed Harris) and Radio (Cuba Gooding Jr.) develop an outstanding friendship that forever changed T.L. Hana High School.

Director Michael Tollin and screenwriter Mike Rich do an amazing job at fitting such a long drawn out story into the short amount of time allotted for this movie.

This true story takes place in Anderson, South Carolina, where Hana High school doesn’t seem to notice the mentally challenged young black man who spends his time walking around the town; until some guys from the football team pay notice to him and start acting cruelly towards him. Coach Jones, having empathy for him, befriends him and he eventually earns respect from the other student in the school.

The perspective of Hana High towards radio is immensely changed from the beginning of the story to the end.
